Tourmaline in Pollucite
Paprok, Kamdesh District, Nuristan, Afghanistan
16.5 cm tall x 14 cm wide
A rare pairing of species. Few tourmaline with pollucite examples are known and this specimen is considered to be among the largest and finest ever unearthed. The pollucite is a complete three dimensional complex crystal. Thrusting up through the white pollucite crystal is a robust transparent/translucent bi-colored tourmaline. The glassy luster of the tourmaline and its watermelon pink and shamrock green create the allure of beauty and the singularity of rarity.
