Pingwu Beryl Mine, Mt. Xuebaoding, Pingwu Co., Mianyang, Sichuan, China
6 cm tall x 9 cm wide
Scheelite from China redefines what was known about the species. Prior to this discovery, the world only knew scheelite as unattractive and lacking in color. This example, mined 25 years ago from the Pingwu Beryl Mine, is one of the most remarkable of the species. Scheelite is scarcely being unearthed in China today.
This vibrant orange scheelite crystal is highly transparent with excellent vitreous luster. It sits on top of a silver bladed muscovite matrix, enhancing its foremost qualities.
