Amethyst (Quartz)
Goboboseb Mountains, Brandberg Area,
Dâures Constituency, Erongo Region, Namibia
7.7cm Tall x 6.8cm Wide
A superb, sharply terminated Brandberg amethyst crystal displaying exceptional transparency and vivid violet color zoning. Deep royal-purple phantoms and intricate internal growth structures create remarkable visual depth within the crystal, while the lustrous prism rises elegantly from a contrasting cream-colored matrix.
A dramatic dark purple central "column" that gives the crystal remarkable three-dimensional depth. Several negative spaces and reflective internal planes create changing visual effects as the specimen is rotated.
These intricate internal landscapes are one of the reasons Brandberg amethyst is prized by collectors. Crystals from this locality are especially known for exceptional clarity combined with phantoms, color zoning, and other unusual internal growth features.
The specimen has a dramatic "floating" appearance due to the clean separation between the crystal and its matrix. The combination of gem clarity, dramatic internal architecture, and perfectly balanced composition makes this an outstanding display specimen representative of the world-renowned Brandberg locality.
