Rubellite Tourmaline on Cleavelandite
Malkhan Pegmatite Field, Krasnyi Chikoy, Zabaykalsky Krai, Russia
This Tourmaline showcases two prominent deep magenta-red crystals with a translucent to transparent quality. These crystals have well-defined, geometric facets and sharp edges, which catch and reflect light, enhancing their vibrant color. The crystals emerge from a base of contrasting rough, pale blue and white cleavelandite that has a soft, textured, almost cloud-like appearance. The interplay between the vivid, glass-like tourmalines and the rugged, matte matrix creates a dynamic visual contrast, emphasizing both natural beauty and structural complexity.
