The Nuristan Mountains, a region once conquered in the 4th century BCE by Alexander the Great, is some of the most difficult terrain in the world to traverse. A rugged and forbidding isolated place with little access and extreme weather. It is here where Earth hid some of the most spectacular treasure.
The robust colorful tourmalines from this remote mountainous region are among the world’s finest. This tourmaline sits within pure white cleavelandite and next to a light smoky quartz crystal. The tourmaline crystal is a vivid “bubble gum” pink, the most desirable color from Nuristan, terminating sharply in a very unusual aqua blue/green. This crystal possesses the very finest qualities of the region.
